Atunci cand noul an isi arata magia inca din primele zile . . . Mi-a spus ca plecarea era peste doua zile si ca aceasta calatorie avea ca...

Travelling for the Soul – Sivananda Ashram in India

India has always been the ultimate destination for the spiritual seeker, and for one month and a half, is has been the place that helped me heal my broken heart.  Since I started practicing yoga, five years ago, a seed of desire has been planted in my heart, to experience an Ashram in India. I became a yoga instructor in a Sivananda Ashram, but in the Bahamas, so after almost one year, my path has brought me to South India, in the beautiful Kerala state, where I had a healing journey, guided by my soul. For one month and a half, I explored the beauty of the nature and of the people here in South India, I had a relaxing week in a beautiful ayurveda centre, and I lived in two different ashrams. The first one was Amritapuri, the famous ashram of the female Guru Amma. The second one was the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, the place where I felt the magic of India and of an authentic Yoga practice. I may be subjective, because I have been trained by a Sivananda School, but in the...

What Ricefields? Enjoy the Indian Tea Plantations

I've spent 50 days in Kerala, South India, and I was mesmerised with it's beauty and complexity. But in a certain place, I witnessed and photographed the most beautiful landscapes in my life.  This place is called Munnar, it's located  1600 meters above sea level, an it's the place where you can find unending tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains, wild elephants and exotic species of flora and fauna. It's one of the main places where spices are cultivated in South India, so many times you can feel the scented cool air.The British rulers from the colonial days were choosing this piece of heaven as their summer favourite summer destination. As top attractions, you can enjoy the numerous tea plantations, or fluffy green carpets as I like to call them, waterfalls, the spice and tea markets and factories, you can join a trekking excursion, or you can visit Munnar City. But this article is about the stunning tea plantations, the green carpets that are...

Ayurveda – Magical Science for the Body

Ayurveda, Magical Science for the Body, Mind and Soul During my 50 days spent in South India, I had the opportunity to experience the beauty of this authentic wellbeing practice, its benefits and it's deep process of detoxing, physically but also emotionally. I went through a one week treatment at Erandia Marari Resort, in Kerala. More about the experience there in the previous article.Ayurveda is a system of preventive medicine and health care that developed in India more than 5,000 years ago. The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit root words: Ayus, or “life,” and Veda, meaning “knowledge” or “science.” Ayurveda states that a system of health that only takes into account the structure and functioning of the physical body, cannot effectively address human health in it’s totality, because obviously we are much more than this material form.Ayurveda defines ayu, or life, as the intelligent coordination of the four parts of life: atma (soul), manas (the mind), indriyas...

Ashram: Traditionally, an ashram is a spiritual hermitage or a monastery in Indian religions. Today the term ashram often denotes a locus of Indian cultural activity such as yoga, music study or religious instruction, similar to a studio, yeshiva or dojo.

Si mai adaugam si ceva comedie romantica, in care personajul principal pleaca in India pentru a scrie un roman.

Kochi – The Indian City that Stole my Heart

Kochi, the Indian city that makes you feel like part of a movieA movie? Yes, a mixture between Indiana Jones, Eat Pray Love and Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. And we can add also a romantic comedy in which the main character goes alone in India to write a romantic novel.Kochi is the cultural capital of Kerala and it has two parts, the new one and the old harbour part. To be honest, I didn't even strugle to visit the modern part, because I fell deeply in love with the old one, the bohemian romantic and artistic part of the city. This old part is called Fort Kochi and it's a harbour that has been active since 1341. This is how for so many centuries, this part of India has made exchanged values with the rest of the world. It is still active, but time and modernisation has slowed things drastically, but it is still a very beautiful place where people are selling spices, oils, rice and other goods. The best part of this city? The funny goats that are running free...
